Description

Part of a block in three joining pieces with two clamp cuttings in the preserved surface. The large, incomplete cutting, with steeply splayed end, is perpendicular to the axis of the block and presumably, therefore, to tie the face block back into the core of the South Platform. The corner of a small clamp cutting in the end of the block, at top left in the photograph, would have tied this block to its neighbor in the wall face of the South Platform.

Dimensions

Cutting 16: extant length: 24 cm. Width of end: 14 cm. Depth: 7 cm. Cutting 17 was much smaller, depth: 3 cm.
