| description | Sheet metal hoofed animal (ibex) figure - incomplete, lower half of ibex? Facing right, it stands on its rear right hoof, the inner left leg being raised. The short tail, which certainly identifies the animal as an ibex or wild goat, is extended in a raised position. The back is arched in a way that makes it possible, but not certain, that the head was turned. The piece is complete apart from minor portions of the left leg and hoof. It was attached, presumably to wood, by means of three holes, one at the top of each hoof and one in the tail. Muscles and joints are articulated by indented lines and very slightly raised circular bosses, thereby enhancing the lifelike appearance, may represent lower half ibex; rivet holes. |
